The Ladies Contact Club supports Nightwatch and they have receive an appeal letter that they would like to share with eveyone…
Nightwatch have been caring for homeless people in Croydon since 1976 and like many other charities have seen an increase demand on their services with the rising cost of living. Nightwatch is having their usual Harvest appeal over the month of October.
They need cans of soup (not packets) and they also distribute canned food, vegetables, packs of rice and pasta, meat and fish to people who have basic cooking facilities, and give cans of tinned fruit to people who have no facilities at all. Canned milk is also popular.
Toiletries are also welcomed. They accept donations of blankets and sleeping bags but no clothes, please or bedding except blankets.
They have designated the first four Sunday evenings in October every year between 7:30pm and 10:30pm as times when they will receive donations, and volunteers will be present to sort out and store them.
Please bring your donations to: The hall of the Croydon Society of Friends (Quakers) 60 Park Lane, CR0 1JE. Near Fairfields Hall roundabout, any Sunday in October between 7.30pm and 10.30pm. They also need lots of volunteers to help them receive, sort and store the food.
If you can deliver on the Sunday evenings, it would be very much appreciated. If you would like to volunteer, please contact their volunteer co-ordinator Fiona Satiro or see croydonnightwatch.org.uk .
