Church Anniversary

Last Sunday we came together to celebrate our church anniversary. It was a momentous occasion filled with joy, gratitude and reflection. With the help of SOS, Young Disciples and Chris Poole, we were able to honour the rich history and the countless blessings we’ve received, while looking forward to a future brimming with hope and our Lord’s promises. This was so well put together by Chris in another of his great poems.

Think of the history that has happened here
The faith that’s grown in this place
The altered lives and acts of love
Each Evidences of God’s good grace.

Acknowledge now, this gifted moment
Unique in every way
This time is a signal event
A precious unrepeatable day.

Keep young and enthralled by the things you see,
This world’s an amazing place,
And God has blessed you with a life,
To live in this time and this space.

Offer understanding to those all around,
Who’s life might be good or bad,
May the time you share with them right now
Be the best they’ve ever had.

For “thank you” is a simple phrase,
Sometimes given without a thought,
But it holds real power cheer and to bless.
It’s a gift which cannot be bought.

Weekly Church activities during the month

Knit & Natter Group, meets every other Monday between 2-4pm in the Lounge (Parkgate Road entrance). If you would like to join and know which mondays the group meets please speak to Brenda Manuel-Warner.

Mens Cycling Group. Meets every Tuesday morning for a gentle ride to Abbey Mill’s. If you would like to join please contact Dave Usher, Ed Brown or Chris Poole.

Meeting at the Pub. Join some of the men at The Whispering Moon, Wetherspoons in Wallington at 6 pm, every Tuesday for an evening meal and a proper catch up!

Paddington’s Toddlers Group. Continues to run every Wednesday Morning, 9:30 to 11:15. If you would like to join please contact Maureen.

Online Prayer Meeting (Zoom Prayer Group). Meets every fortnight Wednesday via Zoom between 6:45 – 7:30 p.m. Please contact Fran Poole for more information on November dates and details on how to access the meeting.

Leechcroft Road House Group. Meets every fortnight Wednesday in person or via zoom at 8 p.m. Dates for this month are: 6th and 27th November. Please contact Ben and Pat Fabunmi for more information and details on how to access the meeting.

Ladies Contact Club will meet again, on 3rd April 2025

Craft Club will be held on Thursday 14th and 28th November from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. For more information please speak to Fran.

Y-Prayers House Group once a month on a Friday via zoom at 8 p.m. For November’s date please contact Winnie Essel or Jan Stone for more information.

Members Meeting

There is a members meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 20th November, in the small hall at 8pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

WBC Safeguarding Team

Here at Wallington Baptist Church we care about everyone who is part of our church. We are all precious to God, each person deserves kindness and respect.

Safeguarding is about making our church a SAFE place for EVERYONE.

We need to listen to each other and work together, to keep everyone safe.

Our church has appointed Jan Stone as our designated person for safeguarding, with Gary Weithers and Chris Poole as deputies to assist her.

There are policies and procedures for children, Youth and Adults at Risk.

Jan’s gentle reminders

Can I please remind everyone that children under 7 need to be collected from their Sunday morning group after the service. Older children will be dismissed from the room where the group is meeting.
During the service adults should use the toilets in the vestibule, children will use the toilets by the kitchen.
Parents are responsible for their children once the service has finished. If your child plays in the large hall please ensure any toys, footballs etc are put away.
