Holiday at Home report 2024

Holiday at Home has been running since October 2007 and we have a pattern of 3 times a year. We run this event for seniors, on a Saturday, with lunch included.

We usually have, craft, games, quizzes, entertainment and include a ‘Thought for the Day’.

Our aim is to give the guests an enjoyable day, with friendship, someone to listen to them, and so to witness God’s Love to them. Most guests keep returning, unless their health deteriorates, so we are getting to know them well.

Some of our guests have Churches or have had a Christian background, some have no church connection and some are asking about our faith. We invite them to the services and our other ministries: Contact Club, Craft or Knit and Natter.

Mostly its ladies who come, men are welcome too!

When I reported in 2012 our numbers varied between 14 and 26. Now we stop at 40, including the hosts who enjoy the day just as much as the guests!

We have a great team who provide a much-appreciated lunch, greet, help with craft and chat. Thank you to everyone involved!

Our next Holiday at Home is on November 30th, with the Quaker Steel Band entertaining us. Please look out for the invitations and give them to friends and neighbours. Any volunteers- please talk to Fran or Delsie.

Thank you all for your support and prayers.
