Our next members meeting will be on Wednesday, 20th September at 8 p.m. in the Small Hall.

The Sermon on the Mount

We are taking a pause from the Sermon on the Mount during the month of August. Young Disciples and SOS

It’s back-to-school season, Young Disciples and SOS are re-starting this September. Please continue to pray for our young people, teachers and helpers. Also, SOS is looking for helpers/volunteers who would like to help in this ministry. Please speak to Raquel or Jan if you are interested.

Weekly Church activities during the month

Knit & Natter Group, meets on Monday, 4th and 18th of September between 2-4pm in the Lounge (Parkgate Road entrance). If you would like to join, please speak to Brenda.

Mens Cycling Group. Meets every Tuesday morning for a gentle ride to Abbey Mill’s. If you would like to join please contact Dave Usher, Ed Brown or Chris Poole.

Meeting at the Pub. Join some of the men at The Whispering Moon, Wetherspoons in Wallington at 6 pm, every Tuesday for an evening meal and a proper catch up!

Paddington’s Toddlers Group. Continues to run every Wednesday Morning, 9:30 to 11:15. If you would like to join please contact Maureen.

Leechcroft Road House Group. Meets every fortnight Wednesday in person or via zoom at 8 p.m. Dates for this month are: 6th September. Please contact Ben Fabunmi for more information and details on how to access the meeting.

Ladies Contact Club will be held on every other Thursday, 7th and 21st September in the small hall. Please contact Maureen or Brenda if you would like more information.

Y-Prayers House Group meets every fortnight Thursday via zoom at 8 p.m. Contact Winnie Essel or Jan Stone for more information.

The Forge

The Forge is a men’s event, held near Carshalton in Surrey. It’s a chance for us blokes to get together, share food, fun, and even talk to one another!

TF23 will run from 1pm on Saturday 9th Sept 2023, and will end on Sunday 10th at 1pm.

You can camp overnight, or just drop in for the weekend on each day.

It’s open to anyone over the age of 13, but we do ask for there to be a responsible adult around for anyone under 18!

The team come from churches based in the area and we’re running TF23 to show that following Jesus leads to the best life possible!

Back to School

We are in the season of transitions. As we move from summer to autumn, this is the time where children and young people move classes, school, start university or
enter the world of work. You may have children and
young people transitioning between your own groups
and, this year especially, you might be moving from a
period of limited face-to-face meetings to more ‘normal’ activities. Transitions can be hard and daunting.
Energize from Urban Saints has put together some
resources to help you and your young people not just
survive but thrive in this season. Here are some of

great guide to how parents can help children cope with

Finally, the best resource we can recommend is the
Bible. Remind your children and young people that, although we will go through changes in this life, our God is faithful and never changes. As Joshua 1:9 says:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with
you wherever you go.”
